This is Asia
It’s 6.54pm in Seattle, 11.54am in Tokyo, and the flight plan’s telling me we’re somewhere over the Pacific Ocean, just under four hours away from our destination.
The last couple months have been a bit of a whirlwind. Everything was in a state of flux—2 months, 10 cities, 37 shows, all gone in the blink of an eye.
Goodbye America. Hello Nippon! And for the next three months, we’ll be calling Asia “home.”
Asia. It’s boot camp time! This is when the hard life of tour really kicks in. Sure, we’ve done 37 shows, but we still have an astonishing 80 or 90 to go.
The other day I checked our upcoming schedule. My roommate and I browsed it with gasps and glee (probably more gasps). As far as I could tell, the next few months are filled with two shows a day, rushing from one city to another in the middle of the night, and times when we’ll perform 10 days straight without a break.
This is Asia. I knew what I was in for. I guess I’m ready; I have to be. I just might need a coffee more often than usual.
